You can buy an off-plan Spanish property and let it out, using the return from the rentals to pay for running costs on the property, or you can buy an off-plan property in Spain and sell it on before completion. See our '10 reasons to buy off plan Spanish property' guide for more information.

What are the costs involved in Buying a Spanish property

Typically you should allow for an extra 11% on top of the purchase price of a Spanish property to cover the various legal and mortgage fees. Of course if you do not require a mortgage, then your costs will be lower. The main cost is that, unlike the UK, in Spain you must pay 7% VAT on the price of the property. If you are an investor, however, we have investment options that will help you avoid most of these fees.
